Best external drive for xbox one. Peetie writes:

Hi,

The EV Express addon had quite some updates and turned out to be a complete addon with lighting setup, backgrounds, smoke, render settings, compositing nodes and camera settings. It comes also with extensive documentation. Note: Because the File-size of this addon, the Blender Market of Gumroad is a more convenient way to purchase the EV. Download the zip file from github (Green button, Download zip) Open Blender = 2.8x; Go to Edit - Preferences - Click Install button and navigate to the zip file you downloaded; JMesh Tools appears in the addon list - Activate it (Checkbox) JMesh panel is now visible in the side bar (N key to open it) New features: 1.2.8.2: Gizmo is centered.

Addons

Blender-addons.org is a new website that lists add-ons for Blender 2.8 and for now, focussed on content as follows:

  • Add-ons compatible with Blender 2.8.
  • Mentions the culprit the users might stumble upon when installing and using the addon the first time.
  • For now the focus is mainly on Free addons, addons with 'name a fair price', or addons that have a free and a pro-version. This to promote an environment where the visitor can browse for free addons if that's the choice. There is a shop though (with 1 product for now), but doesn't interfere the browsing experience. There will also be adds on the left but doesn't affect browsing experience when looking for free addons.
  • Provides links to download and links to full documentation if there is any.

For now the website counts a list of 40 addons (200 addons would be nice). If you want to help (Let me know in the comments), I am looking for addons in this criteria first:

  • Works with Blender 2.8
  • The main features of the addon has to work.
  • Addons that would benefit a wide range of users.
  • Preferably well maintained.

If you know addons that are missing, let me know.

The websites provides:

  • Categories, Tag, and Search when looking for addons.
  • Shop and possibility to donate. Donation wel be used to improve the website (template, space, security) and I hope I can paid the costs of hosting the website).
  • The website send a lot of traffic back to Blenderartists.org and Github where most addon's are originated from. Most of you know I did an earlier attempt to list addons in a thread on Blenderartists.org, but the list got so big and was harder and harder to maintain. Since I am an addon-addict, I started a website dedicated to Addons for Blender 2.8

Whenever we have a new release of Blender a few artists will start to wonder if they will have to make changes to their workflow. One of the main reasons to have a 'broken' workflow is the absence of a particular Add-on. For instance, in architectural modeling, it is hard to start a project without some great Add-ons like ArchMesh and ArchiPack.

They offer some unique options to create time-consuming objects in architecture like windows and doors.

Since Blender 2.8 introduced some significant changes to the Python API, most Add-ons would have to receive updates to work with the new environment.

What is the status? Do we have working Add-ons for Blender 2.8? Sure! There are several Add-ons already working with Blender 2.8.

To keep track of the updates, you can check this community list of working Add-ons for Blender 2.8. Unfortunately, you won't find any of the must-have Add-ons for architecture.

In any case, you can always go back to Blender 2.79 and make some quick models with a working Add-on. Save the file as a native 'blend' and append the results to your brand new visualization in version 2.8. That is far from an ideal workflow but will solve all problems related to unported Add-ons for the new API.

As a side note, remember that you now have to use the Edit menu to access user preferences in Blender 2.8 and not the File menu.
